The Taranaki Mountain Airs have suffered a setback in their preparations for the 2016 NBL season.
Import centre Omar Samhan won’t be linking up with Taranaki, instead joining a Puerto Rican side.
The news comes as a blow for the Airs, who had recruited excellently in getting Samhan – a centre who finished the ANBL season superbly with the Townsville Crocodiles.
Over the last seven games with Townsville, the former Saint Mary’s standout averaged 16.3 points and 10.6 rebounds per game, showcasing skills which would have seen him become a realistic MVP candidate in the NBL.
